New Audit Scotland chair appointed
Colin Crosby OBE has been appointed as the new chair of Audit Scotland's Board from early October 2024.
Colin joined the Board as an independent non-executive director in 2020. He has significant leadership experience across the public, private and third sectors, and was formerly CEO of a subsidiary of Aberdeen Asset Management, is a trustee of the Scottish Ballet endowment fund, and a former council member of the Institute for Chartered Accountants in Scotland. He has an OBE for services to social housing.
Colin said:
Audit Scotland plays a vital role in Scotland. It is important that the people of Scotland know that, on their behalf, we hold the Scottish Government and public bodies to account and help them improve the services citizens rely on.
We need to increase the impact of Audit Scotland's work across the public sector and beyond, ensuring that the value of our work is understood more widely. Central to this is for the Board to support the drive and ambition of Audit Scotland to further embrace modernisation and deeply embed a culture of continuous development.
Through this we can fulfil our vision that public money is well spent to meet the needs of Scotland's people.
Colin succeeds Professor Alan Alexander OBE, whose term as chair ended on 3 October.
