New chair takes the helm of Audit Scotland Board
A new Chair takes the helm of the Audit Scotland Board from today (1 October).
John Maclean, the longest serving independent board member, succeeds Ronnie Cleland as chair. John has been Chair of the Audit Committee for five years and is looking forward to chairing the board during a period of change.
Heather Logan also joins the board from today, following her appointment in January this year to be a co-opted member of the Audit Committee for a term of one year. Heather was previously a member of the Scottish Government’s Audit and Risk Committee, and she becomes Chair of the Audit Committee with effect from today.
There were other changes to the Board this year. In March, Katharine Bryan, one of three independent board members, stepped down. Ian Leitch replaced Katharine from 1 April, and he chairs the Remuneration and Human Resources Committee. Ian was an assistant chief executive at the Scottish Parliament prior to retirement, and is also a member of the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission.
All appointments to the Board are made by the Scottish Commission for Public Audit.
