Supporting Scotland's economic growth
Audit Scotland is inviting businesses to participate in a new audit looking at the role of economic development agencies, and their impact on economic growth.
Auditors are currently assessing the role of Scottish Enterprise (SE) and Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), which support economic growth through a range of financial and non-financial support to businesses, at an estimated cost of £380 million each year.
As part of the audit work, the team now want to hear from businesses who have received, or tried to access, support from SE and HIE.
Gemma Diamond, audit manager, has explained the purpose of the consultation and how to take part in a new blog. Further information on the scope of the audit is also available in the project flyer.
We aim to publish a report in summer 2016. Following publication, the Auditor General, Caroline Gardner, will present findings to the Scottish Parliament’s Public Audit Committee.
