Andrew Burns' appointment as Deputy Chair of the Accounts Commission has been extended

Shona Robison, Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Local Government, has agreed an extension to the appointment of Andrew Burns as Deputy Chair of the Accounts Commission. Andrew's appointment will now run until 31 July 2027.

Jo Armstrong, Chair of the Accounts Commission said:

I’m delighted to confirm that Shona Robison, Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Local Government, has agreed an extension to the appointment of Andrew Burns as Deputy Chair of the Accounts Commission. Andrew's appointment will now run until 31 July 2027.

Andrew has served on the Commission since 2018, taking up the Deputy Chair role in 2024. He has extensive leadership and management experience across the private, public, and voluntary sectors.

His depth of experience across local government, the third sector and the issues we report on, are invaluable. I welcome the expertise and continuity he will provide to the Accounts Commission.
