Publication: Local government budgets 2026/27
Funding for councils is failing to keep pace with rising costs and demand despite a small real terms increase in funding.
The City of Edinburgh Council resubmitted data on their projected revenue budget gap for 2028/29. An updated version of the report was published on 16 June 2026.
